I love Dog Days of Birmingham! I went one day on my lunch break to check out the facility and learn more about the place before taking my golden retriever, Moose. The staff went above and beyond showing me around and answering questions I had. When I dropped off Moose they checked him in quickly so I could get to work on time. Of course I am one of those pet owners that's a firm believer in the quote "if you think diamonds are girls best friend than you never had a dog". With it being Moose's first time I called during lunch to make sure he was adjusting well and the staff was very helpful and filled me in on his day so far. I love that they take pictures on Facebook throughout the day and post them, it tickles me to see Moose having a blast with other dogs. I highly recommend this place if you need your dog to get some exercise, bath or need somewhere to board them. The facility is clean and the staff is excellent and has a passion for dogs. Moose can't wait to go back to "doggie daycare"! Thank you!
My four year old pomeranian, Bentley is normally babysat by his grandfather (my dad) when I go out of town. I boarded him at the vet once and I promised him I would never do that again because he was mad at me for a while after that. When my family went on vacation together, I sent Bentley to "camp" at Dog Days of Birmingham. When I went to pick him up, I am not sure he even noticed I was there. He was playing - this is a dog that rarely leaves my side and cries when I leave him (normally). I wish he could talk and tell me about his week at Dog Days, but I promise every time we get in the car, that is where he hopes we are going. Not only did he have a blast and make a lot of new friends - but I was able to see him daily on Facebook - Dog Days of B'ham posts pictures of the pups playing on the roof and it is so fun to see them when you are away. Bentley was also groomed at the end of the week and looked great! I highly recommend Dog Days to anyone with a dog! They truly treat them like the family members they are!
I have been bringing my dog to Jimmy and the crew at Dog Days for almost a month now and I couldn't be happier. As the owner of a lovable but very shy dog, I was (and still am) so happy with how patient Jimmy and his staff are with him and that they have really helped him come out of his shell and learn to play with other dogs.
Since the loss of his best friend, my dog doesn't get a lot of time to socialize with other dogs, especially in the heat of the Alabama summer when going to the dog park isn't really an option but Dog Days gives him a safe, constantly monitored environment inside (and outside on their awesome roof!) to interact with other dogs and keep him busy while I am at school.
I am disappointed I didn't know about Dog Days sooner, but I consider my dog lucky that I still have a couple years of school left!
